Nat'l CH. Hifive's Wrangler

Runner-Up, Grand National Grouse and Woodcock Invitational Championship

Hifive Kennels has a great 2009/2010 season.

The shooting dogs enjoyed the podium 23 times, with 5 championship and 3 classic placements.  Between them they had 8 firsts, 7 seconds and 4 thirds.

Fireside Fleetwood is Mi. Runner-Up Walking Shooting Dog of The Year.

Fireside Fleetwood

Hifive's Wrangler "Rudy" owned by Dan Ross of Michigan, our biggest winner, won the National Amateur Grouse and Woodcock Championship, was Runner-Up in the Grand National Grouse and Woodcock Invitational Championship, Runner-Up in the Wisconsin Coverdog Championship and winner of the Roger Bryant Shooting Dog Classic. Fireside Setters also enjoyed some sweet success in the shooting dog stakes with Fireside Drama Queen "Marley" and Fireside Fleetwood, both owned by Mary-Beth Esser of Wisconsin. Marley, a stunning tri-color was Runner-Up in the Lake States Grouse Championship and placed in the Roger Bryant Classic. Fleetwood, a very powerful moving dog was the winner of the Plateau Shooting Dog Classic, 1st Highland Walking Shooting Dog, and 2nd in the Grand Valley Walking Shooting Dog to earn him runner-up walking shooting dog of the year. Call Me Kate "Kate" owned and handled by Craig Merlington of Michigan, was Runner-Up in the PA Grouse Championship. This placement was enough to get this hard charging setter a spot in the top 14 to run in the Grand National Grouse & Woodcock Invitational Championship. Shredder, owned by Jim Gingas of Michigan, is a very powerful striding dog placing twice this season. Winterset Steadfast "Stevie" owned by Lori Winters of Michigan, placed 4 times for us in both walking and grouse dog events. Look for this youngster this upcoming season to do very well.

Our derbies came out swinging. They amassed 39 placements with 7 being in classics. Between them they had 14 firsts, 14 seconds and 11 thirds. We won derby of the year honors with four different dogs.

Dateline Blacklist

Dateline Blacklist "Butch", Purina Foster Coverdog Derby Award winner, owned by Kevin Burney of Wisconsin was our biggest hitter. With brilliant application, stunning style running and on game, Butch was in the blue 6 times. He was the winner of 3 derby classics; Reuel Henery Pietz, David Blakley and the 1 hour Dell Todd Derby Classic. Two 1st place wins in shooting dog stakes put the final touches to his derby season.

Fireside Interesting Linda

Fireside Interesting Linda "Lindy", Wisconsin/Minnesota Coverdog Derby of the Year, owned by Mary-Beth Esser of Wisconsin, a beautiful running tri-color with breathtaking style on point, won the Wisconsin grouse derby and was runner-up in the Minnesota Reuel Henery Pietz grouse derby classic.

Silverwhip

Silverwhip "Whip", Michigan Walking Derby of the Year, owned by JP Jones of Michigan, this powerhouse of a female had great success on the walking circuit. She had four big wins to put her on top.

Hifive's Rock Solid

Hifive's Rock Solid "Rock", Michigan Coverdog Derby of The year, owned by Mike Lareau of Michigan, worked hard to be on top. With his awesome work ethic he won the John R. Stuart Derby Classic and placed in the 1 hour Lake States Dell Todd derby classic and finished his derby season with 7 placements one of which was a runner-up in the Dave Fletcher Shooting Dog Classic.

Rock's two brothers Dateline Milwaukee "Sudsy", owned by Kevin Burney and Fireside High Noon "Johnny", owned by Mary-Beth Esser, found their way to the podium 8 times between them. Sudsy was runner-up in the John R. Stuart Derby Classic and placed in a shooting dog stake. Dateline Dublin "Kate", also owned by Kevin Burney placed 4 times in the woods with multiple finds on grouse and woodcock. Hifive's Here She Comes "Kate", owned by Scott Grush of Michigan, is a very exciting dog with two first place wins. Another Dateline dog, Fastrack "Viper" rounded out the season with a 2nd place win in a walking stake.

Our puppies took a total of 8 wins, two of them being classics. Mary-Beth Esser's Fireside Tipster and Fireside Tsunami were our biggest winners both placing in the Michigan Puppy Classic and other fine puppy events.

Fireside Tipster won Mi. Walking Puppy of The Year.

Team Hifive placed 22 different dogs.
